Title: Map overlay won't show up on Oregon 600
Post by: String on July 12, 2015, 02:47:26 PM
Made an overlay of my hunting area. It won't show up in maps on my Oregon. It does in BaseCamp and it shows up as data received from Memory card. When I put the SD card in my PC it shows hunting club in Custom maps file. Made it in JPEG put in basecamp as kmz. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Basecamp is much more forgiving when it comes to .kmz file (custom maps). The GPS can be very picky about displaying this kind of map. Here are some common problems

* You may have to zoom WAY in to see the map, try zooming to 500 feet or 300 feet
* Make sure that you did NOT create a progressive .jpg file
* Use only letters and numbers in the file name. DO NOT use blank spaces or special characters
* The .jpg file(s) CANNOT be any larger than 1024x1024 pixels
* The .jpg file(s) CANNOT be any larger than 3 MB each
* You must put the .kmz files inside a folder named CustomMaps inside the Garmin folder.
