Title: can't get downloaded map nto basecamp

I download a map (Montana topo) and it put it in c:\garmin\custom\mt topo...\img.    When I try to import this into Basecamp (on my computer) it will not go in because Basecamp does not recognize the filr type .img.

How can I download a map , from this site,  to basecamp on my computer ???

In either case, you are going about this wrong. You do not "open" or "import" maps into Basecamp, they must be installed separately. This tutorial should show you how to do it properly:
