I am new to this a just got a Oregon 650 . I bought a 24k map disc and installed it on base camp. My question is i thought that the map would have different hiking trails listed on the map. My wife an i would like to load a hiking trail on the gps and let it track our way.

What do you mean by "let it track our way"? The ability to record a track has nothing to do with the map. A track just shows where you have been.
The MyTrails map will display trails on your screen, but AFAIK it won't allow you to create routes on them (if that is what you want). In other words, it won't be able to give you directions about where and when to turn or tell you when you will arrive at a destination.
