Title: BaseCamp does not see my maps
Post by: Schnee on October 13, 2011, 09:51:41 AM
Hi,

I followed this http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-.img-files-into-mapsource-with-mapsettoolkit/ (http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-.img-files-into-mapsource-with-mapsettoolkit/) tutorial. Every thing went well untill
"22. Now you can open MapSource or BaseCamp and see your map."

I open BaseCamp, and ... I don't see my map.

Any hint ?

You need to provide a lot more info than that.
What map were you trying to load?  If from this site post a link.
Did you author it yourself?

I got it here : http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com/maplist.php?skip=90&cat=4&cnt=37&rgn=031 (http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com/maplist.php?skip=90&cat=4&cnt=37&rgn=031)
"Ibycus Topo-031J14 " at the bottom of the page.
There is a .img and a buil.mp file, they don't tell what to do with them.
I ran the .img file through mapsetToolKit.

May be the problem is that I have no .typ file?

Ibycus has revised that mapset.
All of Canada is over 3Gb in size.
Try his website; he was offering the new version on DVD at minimum cost, or you could download it via the torrent process.
