Title: 62s updates
Post by: Bob A on May 12, 2011, 07:53:18 AM
I bought one in Mar. Will use it for canoeing in On. I find the manual not so helpfull, but the more I fool with it the more uses I see. The software version, I believe is 6.4. I see an update available for 9.7. Is it an issue to download and install this version, or since it seems to be woking fine, should I leave it as is.
Thanks
Bob

To get and install the current release software, use WebUpdater:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27

There is some Beta software, but ...

This software should only be uploaded to the unit for which it is intended. If this software is uploaded to a GPS unit other than the product it is designed for, it will render the unit inoperative.

If the software upload fails, and subsequent upload attempts prove unsuccessful, the unit may need to be returned to Garmin for service.
