Hi I am new to the site.
I have a Garmin eTrex Legend which I recently got for biking and snowmobiling.
But, only a few roads show up on the unit and the maps from the garmin website are too expensive.
I was wondering whethere these maps will work on my unit?

They should work; however, they are an 1990's digitization of the paper ONC charts at a scale of 1:1,000,000 (about 16 miles to the inch).
For your purposes one (or more) of the State topo mapsets would be better. You can upload to your GPSr only the portions of a mapset that covers you area of interest.
