Title: Reading a .img file in basecamp
Post by: BobDnero on January 29, 2010, 12:39:00 PM
Hi all
In Homeport I can view the G2 vision image files, but when i put a topo or a city navigator file on an SD card basecamp doesnt recognise it,
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Bob

The files used directly on the gps (like those on a memory card) are not intended to be used on your computer. They are some kludges which may or may not work, but normally you would need to install maps on your computer using a whole process which is not trivial. You can't just "open" the files.

So yes, I would say what you describe is normal.
