Title: Multi maps for tiles
Post by: rpowell on January 21, 2010, 05:33:30 PM
Hello members, been lurking for a while. I wanted to thank you for all the work that has been put into this site. I have already benefited from it. I do have a question or two. I have a Dakota 20, which was my upgrade from a Etrex Vista which was upgrade from the Garmin 12. Is it possible to create a mapset from multiple maps in Mapsource......such as say three tiles from southeast + four tiles from southcentral +    + and so on?

Yes.  See: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin-gps-unit/

With a CO, OR, DK you could also send the quads/tiles from one set to the GPSr, rename the gmapsupp.img file (in the Garmin folder) to another name with a .img extension; then do the same for quads/tiles from additional mapsets.
