Title: Nuvi 760 help
Post by: bpring on January 09, 2010, 10:24:27 AM
Hello Everyone,

I recently loaded the Washington Topo map on my Nuvi 760 and deselected the road map under map info leaving only the trail100 map check, yet I see no map detail. I believe I need to load a copy of MapSource.
Any help would be appreciated.   ;D

Thanks,
Brian

Yes you ll need mapsource on your computer and the maps should be loaded onto there first the sent to you GPSr or better yet an SD or micro SD card, whatever your GPS takes. Follow the tutorials on this site to get mapsource or you could try Garmins BaseCamp. I have been playing around with that lately and seems to work just as well. Ypu can get BaseCamp right from the garmin website and does not cast anything.

You need to use MapSource to load one or more quads/tiles to the GPSr.  You will likely not see any trails in MapSource as there does not seam to be a way to make a preview map - you would have to zoom-in to the data itself and be lucky enough to be 'centered' on a trail.
