Title: My Trails over Ohio Topo?
Post by: CharlieWard17 on January 02, 2010, 05:54:56 PM
Is it possible to overlay the My Trails over the Ohio Topo I have loaded on my Oregon 200.  Sorry if this is a dumb question I am new to this and searched forum but couldn't find an answer.

If you used MapSource to put the Ohio Topo maps (or some of the quads in it) on your Oregon, it was named gmapsupp.img in the Garmin folder.  Change the name to Ohiotopo.img - or anything else with an .img extension.  Open MyTrails in Mapsource and send it to your Oregon; you can then rename this gmapsupp.img file MyTrails.img, or whatever.

At least with the maps I've made, I've been able to simply drag and drop IMG files into the Garmin directory of the card in my Oregon.  As maps4gps suggests, you can also use much more user friendly names for the files than an 8 digit number or "gmapsupp".

Got it.  Thanks so much, just learning how to use this thing.  This site is great.
