Title: Contour Lines on Legend Cx
Post by: Jeff on December 05, 2009, 02:24:54 PM
First post and I wish to thank everyone for the great info in these forums. I recently installed the California topo that I downloaded from http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/28/. I'm using MapSource to transfer the maps to my GPS but for some reason the contour lines are not visible on the unit (they display fine in MS). Changing the level of detail on the setup menu has no effect. Thanks.

That mapset is somewhat unusual.  It has the the non-contour and contour data in seperate quads.  Select an area by draging the selection to across your area of interest.  The box on the left indicates what you have selected.  You should be able to get both using that method.

Thanks, that worked. There seems to be some guesswork involved with determining the appropriate quads to select. Is there a way to tell which quads contain the contour data?

Numbered tiles contain the contour data, named tiles contain everything else.
