Title: Overlap of map segments in California topo
Post by: Tom_H on September 12, 2009, 10:33:03 AM
In using Mapsource to select map segments of the California topo to load to my GPSmap60CSx I notice what appear to be overlapping map segments.  In the same location there are segments that are tall and thin, and then there are segments that are much larger and much wider than the tall segments.  Can someone tell me what is happening here and if I need to make sure that both the tall segments and wide segments are both selected?

Thanks for your help and thanks very much for creating these maps.

Tom

Yes, select both.  The author of that mapset put the contour information in a second set of quads/tiles using a different size than the rest of the information.

Thanks, that was on of my guesses: that one type of data was overlaid on another and the shapes of the data-set areas were different.

Thanks.
