Title: Download to Garmin 62s (Troubleshooting)
Post by: trippledip on December 28, 2018, 04:11:20 PM
Here's the 411

I have a freshly updated Garmin 62s and my computer is running Windows 10. I have downloaded Garmin BaseCamp and Map Install. I downloaded a couple different maps but my concern is just with one of them - the only map I'm actually hoping to install. I downloaded the Texas Topo Map and followed all the relevant instructions. At present, I am able to view the map on BaseCamp in its entirety. However, when I attempt to install the map onto the device or the 8gb SD card the map fails to completely download. For example, only 2.59mb of the 381~mb file is downloading onto the Garmin - essentially one tile in the far SouthEast of the state. The particular file that is managing to be placed on the Garmin is txtopo11 but the remaining .img files (which are numbered and contain the remaining topo features) aren't transferring to the Garmin. Alas, I ask of you humble internet heroes, what do I do fix this problem.

Thanks,

The current version of Basecamp is broken.  Read one of the dozen thread on the issue.

You need to install an older version.
