I don't have a NuviCam but I have an older member of the same "family" (Nuvi Prestige series). You should be able to install topo maps, but they don't look as good as they would on a handheld/outdoor device. Some features will not show, elevation contours are very fat, etc. You will have to decide how useful they are.

The procedure should be the same as other Garmin devices. Download what you want then use this tutorial to install the map on your computer

After getting the map into Basecamp, use this tutorial to send it to the Nuvi

Garmin keeps changing the menu structure on the Nuvi, but you will probably have an item called "MyMaps" that lists all maps installed. Make sure the topo map is enabled, and then disable all other maps in that menu.
