Title: Reinstalling Maps with Mapsource
Post by: el69564 on November 07, 2013, 03:29:59 PM
I would like to reinstall some maps that I currently have in Mapsource and on my GPS.
How do I cleanly uninstall/delete the maps from Mapsource, then clean-up any files that I may have created on my computer, before I again download the maps and reinstall them?
Thank you

If you currently have the maps in Mapsource and want to reinstall them, why is it necessary to remove them? The maps themselves are separate from any files that you create yourself (like waypoints, tracks and routes). Unless you did something unusual, the maps should still be fine. and can simply be sent to the GPS.

But if you want to remove the maps, in most cases they can be uninstalled just like any other software using the Programs and Features control panel in newer versions of Windows or Add/Remove Programs in XP.

Another possibility would be to download GMTK which has many features for managing maps, including removing them. http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html
