Title: Newbie needs help finding downloaded map
Post by: tonymarvin on August 11, 2013, 11:25:05 AM
I successfully downloaded a map and I have the latest version of BaseCamp, but I can't find any way in BaseCamp to view the map.  I downloaded the files to the "My Garmin" folder created by BaseCamp installation but it still doesn't show them.  There doesn't seem to be any way in BaseCamp to path to the files.

Try following this and then tell us where the problem occurs.

Also say which specific map you are having trouble with.

That is the tutorial that I used to install the map.

The map was the Tennessee Topo and it created a folder called tntopo11 (127-1914-tennessee_topo_install.exe).  The installer seemed to work fine and installed the files where I directed.  I would also say that I am using Windows 8 although that shouldn't make any difference.

If that is a 64-bit version of Windows 8, a 32-bit mapset needs to be installed first.
My trails ....' http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/53 works and is small in size.
Then install the TN topo mapset.
Have BaseCamp 'off' when installing any mapset as it only checks for available mapsets when it is started.
