Hello there,
I have a Garmin 60csx, and for some time used Nat. Geo TOPO! as my main mapping software, and need a replacement. I really dislike Basecamp and Mapquest both.
What I am looking for is a program or web source that I can upload/download my GPS or file info, and print true 7.5 minute quads in color, 3d etc.
I've really been out of the loop as far as what's available and would appreciate the help.
Thanks
I don't really have any suggestions, but I think you mean "Mapsource" and not "Mapquest". ;)
Might want to try the free trials from
ExpertGPS: http://www.expertgps.com/
and
TopoFusion: http://www.topofusion.com/
thank you for the replies. I will look into both.
This one is web-based, but don't be scared off by that. It is really cool and if you're not afraid of learning a little KML, it is very powerful. You can print whatever you want from right in your browser, or you can get waterproof print-outs of maps - customized for what you want - through http://www.mytopo.com.

Info about printing is on page 80:

If you try Gmap4 please note that printing through your browser works best with Firefox.
