I have downloaded a birdseye view of my neighborhood so I could learn a little bit about my etrex 20. Can I delete this from the gps to free up that memory? Thx.

Yes, this can be done with the GPS connected to your computer. You can use Basecamp to remove the map, or you can directly open the eTrex like a disk and look inside the Garmin\Birdseye folder. Delete all the .jnx files to completely remove any Birdseye imagery that you have installed.
