Title: HELP!

Please guys. My 3yr old grandson placed my new nuvi "in a safe place Papa"Can the unit be turned on remotely so I can find it?

No. The Nuvi can only receive signals from satellites and calculate its own position. You cannot send anything to it and it can't send anything to you. Time to child-proof the house (I have a 3 year old grandaughter myself)  ;)

Thanks so much. Looks like I'm in trouble! But if it can receive info(I'm a geriatric at this) can it not also be activated by a signal?

No, it cannot be "activated". The satellites basically just go "beep-beep-beep" while the gps measures the time it takes and calculates position. Sorry...

You will find it in the most safe place... in the child's mind.    Lost a set of car keys years ago. 
10 years later ... we moved.  found keys in cigar box used to keep valuables.   Go figure...
