Is there going to be a problem if I just move my 32 bit maps to my new laptop which is 64 bit? Also it will have the new Windows 8.

There have been some installer-related issues with a few GPSFileDepot maps under Windows 7 64 bit. However, if you just move working map files from your old computer to your new computer, I don't think those will affect you. Use the backup/restore feature of this program to move the maps - you can't simply copy the files because registry entries are involved. http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html

The software developers on Garmin's support forum have said that Basecamp and even Mapsource are compatible with Windows 8. I can't confirm, because I don't have a Win 8 machine.  :)
