Title: MapSetToolkit file name error
Post by: littleblkdog on September 11, 2012, 07:50:12 PM
I have been trying to follow the tutorial to install .img files into mapsource to put them on my garmin.  It is located at:

gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-.img-files-into-mapsource-with-mapsettoolkit/

When I get to step 4 it gives me an error saying that I am not following a 8.3 naming convention.  But the file, gmapsupp.img does follow the 8.3 rule.  The path doesn't.

Any suggestions?  Thanks,

Phil

You can't install a gmapsupp.img file with MapSetToolkit. Where did you get that file from?

I used the directions at osm.blog.mantlik.cz/ to download it using Vuze as a torrent client.

The tutorial seems to imply that I need to process through the step in the tutorial to load it on my garmin.

Unless someone here is familiar with that site, it would be best to refer your issues on their mapset(s) to them.
