Title: Creating a Junction View File?
Post by: SmugWimp on June 07, 2012, 09:27:15 PM
Would anyone have experience working with 'Junction View' files?

Because Garmin doesn't cover our area, I've created maps. I'm wondering if it's possible to create junction view files for main intersections and things like that.

Anyone? Bueler?

Cheers!

My guess is popej would be the only one here who would know how to do that, or maybe JavaWa.  Sounds like a lot of work though.  The ones on my nuvi1490 look like perspective drawings of intersections.  I doubt they are based on vector data, because they only occur intermittently, and at major intersections.  A few in LasVegas, none in south west Utah.

There is an expanded set of junction view maps available, better than the default that ships with most devices.

<and I understand you're saying Garmin doesn't cover your area at all, so maybe this post doesn't help you, but it might be of interest to others...>

I don't think there are any 3-rd party tools to create JCV. It is proprietary format and there is no info about its details.
