Title: Help needed
Post by: Horseguy on March 11, 2012, 07:42:26 PM
I have a garmin etrex 20 and  I've sent some maps from mapsource to my unit OK but for some reason the topo lines don't show up on my etrex. If I turn my etrex on I see an arrow and the scale, the rest is a blank screen. How do I get the topo lines to show up?

thanks for the help

What maps did you load?  Can you see ANYTHING on the screen besides the arrow and the scale? Do the maps you loaded cover the area where you currently are?  If not, you will need to pan to the location of the current map.

Try increasing the detail level,  Setup|Map|Advanced|Detail Level.

I have never used an eTrex 20, but other recent models have a bug related to the profiles function that can cause this problem. Make sure your profile is set to Recreational. If already set to Recreational, change to another profile, then change back to Recreational.

Just a shot in the dark, but worth a try.
