Title: City Navigator
Post by: jkdees99 on December 31, 2011, 08:30:45 AM
Just picked up a 60cx and I want to add the city navigator to it.  Only question I have is which version is better to get, the SD card, DVD or file?  I have an 8gb SD card in my GPS now is it possible to add the city navigator to that card with my other maps and still be able to access all of the data?  Or do I need a separate SD card and swap them out if I'm driving or in the woods?

Discussed here at some length:

Short answer: Buy it on DVD. It will be locked to your 60CSX, but too many restrictions on other versions.  All of CNNANT is about 1.1GB, so if you have an 8GB card you'll have plenty of room.  IIRC the useful limit on a 60CSX is 4GB, but the 8 GB card will still work.  You realize that you will only have one gmapsupp.img containing all the maps on your card, so if you ever change maps you will need to rebuild the whole IMG file.  This is done MUCH faster using an external USB card reader than doing it on the 60CSX (That can take hours).
