Title: Loading Garmin Custom Maps on my Oregon 450
Post by: Cywyn on December 12, 2011, 12:00:57 PM
Hi,
I have downloaded the kmz files for Snowdon and London Street Map from GPSFileDepot and copied them into my Custom Maps folder on my Garmin Oregon 450.  I get a message saying the maps are too large and they don't show after enabling them.
They show up fine on Google Earth.
As there are many tiles can anyone advise me how break them up into smaller portions without loosing GPS data?

Thanks,
Dennis

Garmin has a small limit on the total number tiles within a kmz file(sz) the GPSr will work with.  Try only one .kmz file at a time.  Suggest you contact the 'map' author on the break up issue.

Thanks for your reply and tip.  I've contacted the author as you suggested it was the same person who created both maps.
