Title: Need some help with garmin basecamp
Post by: mnman1 on November 06, 2011, 01:50:41 PM
I have recently purchased the Garmin etrex venture with the topo 100k maps.
I know a thing or two about gps hand helds and map layering, but I am not an expert by any means at all, so this forum looked like a good place to ask a question.

Upon downloading basecamp, I am trying to view lake depths, but when i search marine and depth on the map, no results come up. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to purchase additional software?

P.S. most of my gps experience has been with Precision Agriculture.

The Garmin 100k topo maps don't include lake depth information. You will need to purchase marine maps if you need that feature: http://www.garmin.com/us/maps/onthewater
