Title: Grid lines/Printing Questions
Post by: woodstramp on March 12, 2009, 11:48:23 AM
Been playing with this nice mapset of the SE  US (John M's).   I would like to print some sections out, but ran in to a snag.

First, I can't figure out how to add Lat/Lon lines in Mapsource before printing.   There doesn't seem to be an option for that in the Mapsource toolbar.   These are options in the Delorme (streets) and Magellan softwares I do have.   The  Magellan software has topos which can do what I want, but these maps you guys made are nicer.

One other thing...when I see an area I want to cut and print the Map Tool (in the toolbar) won't allow cutting of small areas.  It highlights the whole "quad" (if quad is the correct term) The one I tried to cut/print was small area.  It was one my family's old hunting areas in a local National Forest.  In this instance I don't need a huge map.  Just an area a mile square.

Instead of Mapsource, try opening the .img file directly with GPSMapEdit: http://www.geopainting.com/en/

I'm pretty sure it has an option to show grid lines.

Thanks, Boyd.  Will check it out ASAP.
