Title: Is there anyway to combine map parts into one big map?
Post by: GO_OUTSIDE! on July 25, 2011, 03:49:26 PM
I have a 60CX I am learning how to use. Today thanks to your tutorials and avdrider fro sending me here I have figured out how to download, and install some topo maps to mapsource and ultimately my GPSr.
Problem is, I am using it for dualsport riding and cover more ground than is in one of those little map segments. Is there a way to join segments so I wont run into uncharted territory?
I havent left a segment yet, will the GPS automatically switch segments?
It seems like it will be difficult without consulting a paper map to figure out what the next segment will be named.

What are you doing with these "segments"? If you follow this tutorial you will see how to install as large a section of the map as you want - just drag the mouse across the map while holding down the button. Most maps on this site cover at least a whole state. Do you need more than that?

As Boyd mentioned, just send a larger area than you think you would need, as much as the unit memory will hold. The GPS will follow your progress over the segments.
