Title: Garmin Gpsmap 62s custom map usage
Post by: twlkr on January 30, 2011, 02:09:42 PM
I overlayed 2 maps using google earth. One map covered a hunting area completely w/trails and parking the other has better marked trails on just one section of the area.

How can I turn off and on one of these custom maps at a time?

I have topo 100k CD installed.

If I zoom in I see the larger map, zooming further the smaller map and the topo shows through both custom maps which is great. Both maps are in the CustomMaps folder which will disable or able both custom maps at the same time.

CustomMaps is a cool feature.

Custom maps are cool, but you've just discovered one of their limitations. You can only use one at a time. There is no way to turn on or off different maps, it's all or nothing. Add your vote to this thread for bigger custom maps with more contols. Then forget about it, because Garmin doesn't seem to be interested.  >:( https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=10396
