Title: NE topo maps , Navigates point to point off the road.
Post by: jbuy41 on June 30, 2010, 07:32:01 AM
Newbee. Using NE topo maps. When I goto a destination, it shows more of a straight line and doesnt follow the road.  Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. Most of the maps on this site don't support routing, so if you choose a destination a straight line will be drawn to it. Routing requires additional information about how the roads are interconnected, and this gets more complicated for the mapmaker.

Thanks Boyd, I thought I screwed up things.  What a relief.

The general answer is yes.
What specific area and type of information are you looking for to work with NT?

Hey there:
I have a Nuvi 780 & now TOPO Canada. I use a Mac and as such Basecamp.
Does it make much difference if I load maps onto the SD card.
Any way to make transparent in Basecamp?
Otherwise do I upload the TOPO map of the area where we are planning to go 4 wheelin' and then just switch maps when we go Off-Road?

No way to make the maps transparent in BaseCamp.  They need to be compiled that way.

If you send the maps to internal memory, not the card, make sure you don't overwrite any existing gmapsupp.IMG file on the card.
