Title: Why is my cabin in the lake?
Post by: chickman on December 31, 2008, 09:01:18 AM
I just recieved a eTrex Vista HCx and downloaded the Idaho TOPO map.  The waypoint for my house is right on with mapsource as well as the GPS.  However, my cabin appears in the lake on the GPS while the mapsource on the PC shows it is the right place.  Do I need to change the datum on the GPS and if so, what is the best way top do that?

Can you give me the coordinates for your cabin? (if not I would completely understand security and all).

I do not have that unit so I don't know exactly where the datum is but I would assume its in the settings likely under either units or map and the datum should be wgs84 (normally the default).
