Title: Texas map installation on my Mac
Post by: Tom Gorzycki on February 17, 2010, 07:28:04 PM
I downloaded a Texas topo (mti_tx.tar) successfully onto my Mac today. When I clicked "import" in  Garmin BasCamp, it showed a gray file in my hard drive as mti_tx_gmapi. I cannot select the file for import. Neither can I open the file outside Basecamp. How can I open and or import the file? >:(

I had the same experience with mti_wi.gmap.  I was able to open the map with RoadTrip, but not with BaseCamp.

Thanks.  The beta version did the trick.

I tried double-clicking the installer again, but I had already successfully installed once. I still get the light gray, unreadable file as before. Can I really download an unreadable file to the GPS? It' counterintuitive, but I'll give it a go.
