Title: Oregon450 vs. Etrex
Post by: TrailBlazer71 on August 30, 2010, 08:11:50 PM
hello everyone , noob here.....i was hoping someone might lead me int he right direction as to which GPS to purchase.....

I will mainly have it attached to my atv for trail riding (bread crumbing), and snowmobiling in the wintertime.....I mainly will be riding around the New England region.....I also may use it for fishing someday - to see depth differences, and to mark fishing holes.....

anyways I see the Etrex's range from about $107 to $200 something......

The Oregon450 is on sale until Sept.6 for $250......

Just curious as to what everyone thinks which GPS I should pick......

thanks  :)

If you get an etrex you definitely need the H series and probably an H.x version for all the map expansion.  On the other hand the Oregon 450 is the latest and greatest allowing imagery to displayed which the etrex won't.
