Using The Maps/Garmin Software / oregon 450 & Basecamp
October 16, 2011, 10:21:52 AM
I'm getting better at working with basecam, I actually enjoy using it vs Mapsource. But I do need help now and then (alot) lol.

I took my son Hunter and our ATVs out yesterday and we did some geo-caching it was a blast
I thought I could come home plug the 450 in and load base-camp and it would show my found caches but it didn't and I haven't been able to figure if there is a way other then to do each individually

Any help would be appreciated
TIA...

Using The Maps/Garmin Software / save route to jpg

Het Everyone

Tried to find the answer and just figured it was easier to ask the question.

I have some property for sale in southern Utah, I would like to be able to map a route from a major highway near the property to the property itself. Now making the route is easy of course but I would like to save it as a .jpg so that I can email it to perspective buyers since I can't always make it out there to show them because of time restraints and being 2.5 hrs away

How can I do this?

thanks in advance

ok its all done and installed
in the 1st pic is the unit itself
2nd pic is the install (can you find the box and the wiring? Its actually hooked up to a factory power port that is unused on the ATV so its all fused in the factory system not to mention the circuit board has a small fuse soldered to the board
The last pic shows the GPS running on Vehicle power...

They have one of course:

I saw that one, but the 450 wasn't on the capability list and the 8-36v kind of worried me. since it should be about 5v...
That's the input voltage from your source. The USB output voltage is +5VDC.

yep you're right, I skimmed over it to fast and didn't catch "input" lol,  well mine is done and it  didn't come close to costing me $36 and no extra data wires to deal with

appreciate the correction

yep I could do that, but I'm a fanactic when It comes to my wiring it has to look factory installed. I already have started to build my own it should be done tomorrow with regulator....it would of been nice just to buy one but its more fun to build it....

thanks for the suggestion though

thanks Boyd, you have the real world test right there. The price difference isn't really that bad I think its a couple of dollars so I'll order one today or tomorrow. Do you know if the Oregon 450 can handle a 32gb card?

I have an Oregon 450 I'm gonna purchase a 16gb card maybe even a 32 if the garmin can handle it, i know that my phone will work better with a class 10 but would I need to be concerned about it on the GPS I know it would be better but would I noticed.

I waited for this sale for 2 months, and they did it so I ordered mine on the 1st day but was leaving the next day for vacation so it sat in my PO box for 3-4 days till I got home but i had also ordered the 12v car adapter and Ram mount for it so it was all there when I got home.

To be honest its a whole new ball game compared to my 60cx but I'm learning to use it and liking it so far I haven't try it on my ATV yet in the sun That will be the deciding factor...

"nuff said!
