Title: Garmin 855
Post by: BKSLDR7 on May 21, 2009, 10:36:51 AM
Costco has a Garmin 855 for $300 right now.
Can I load topo maps from this site on it from a
Macintosh?  If so, how?

I have used my Nuvi 350, purchased for automobile
navigation, on the trail with a printed topo map and a
few waypoints loaded as Lat/long coordinates for quick
position checks.  I only use it sparingly and keep it
turned off when not in use.  It would be nice to have
a topo map loaded with the waypoints and route over-
layed.

Some of the maps on the site have Macintosh installers. If not, then you would have to install on a PC and run Garmin's mapconvert program.
