Title: BackPacker GPX to BaseCamp
Post by: crcih on June 11, 2014, 06:30:46 PM
I have been using an Android and a GPS software called BackPacker but now I have purchase my first Garmin 62S. I have many trips in BackPacker that are in GPX format but for some reason BaseCamp doesn't want to open these GPX files. Do I need some kind of a converter? Clinton

BaseCamp opens gpx files. Go to file->import and select your gpx files

It opens, but no map, only way points? Clinton

Oh, it doesn't sound like you know what a gpx file contains. See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_eXchange_Format

Thanks, so I guess when I download my trip from Trimble in gpx it only has the way points. I was hoping it would transfer the route also. I'm wondering if there is a converter I could use? Clinton

It opens, but no map

GPX files can contain waypoints, routes and tracks. They do not contain maps.

Are they all in the same file?

Attach your .gpx file to one of your posts and we will look at it.
