Hi;
I found this nice map that shows 'labeled' FS roads and trails on the ARCGIS site.

Is there a way I can download It? I opened a 'Public Account' with  ARC GIS but no luck.

https://usfs.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?layers=f3ddf325eb02467da65b08d73280ae4a

They call this the MVUM_02. Can't seem to find the MVUM_02 file any place else.
The only difference between MVUM_01 and MVUM_02 is that MVUM_02 has labels for Trails and Roads

Using The Maps/Garmin Software / Re: AVENZA MAPS

Thanks Boyd + jolly47roger;

So, I dug through the government links you guys sent me.

I came across this page where you can make an KML file  with

optional layers:

https://data-usfs.hub.arcgis.com/maps/edit?content=usfs%3A%3Amotor-vehicle-use-map-roads-
feature-layer

https://data-usfs.hub.arcgis.com/datasets/usfs::motor-vehicle-use-map-roads-feature-layer?geometry=-96.053%2C17.959%2C-120.663%2C62.094

I think this will do the trick. Thank a lot for the help.

Thanks Sockmonkey;

This is great info .I'm going to look over Orux Maps, it could do the trick.

I could get an I pad and go with Apps, but I'm all set up with my Garmins.

Most of the time ,the maps on this site pretty much cover about everything.

I'm going to play around with these 'geopdf's you found me.

HI Boyd;
It seems like there's no standard on the map data that's supplied from
forest to forest. Some do better than others. A guy knows they have the Data.
I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks alot Boyd;

  Thanks for doing the research. I have a 7" drivesmart mounted on my ATV.
Seems like I'm always looking around for trail maps that I can download.
Planning a trip to Montana and S Dakota this summer. Always looking for more
sources.
Best for riding is to have maps with' just roads and trails showing' and with no topo lines .

Using The Maps/Garmin Software / AVENZA MAPS
March 18, 2021, 12:25:53 PM
Hi Folks;
More and more I see the forest service posting forest trail information in the
form of 'Avenza Maps' instead of 'GPX ' files.

Is there any way a guy could convert avenza maps over for a Garmin ?

Hi Red90;

   I have just that one map checked off,but I have tried running a second map
with it just to see if it made a difference, and it didn't.

Hi Boyd;

  Ok; I set Transparency to Transparent

        I checked 'Set Draw Priority' and gave it '31' in the box

       I take it this modifys the original program with-out having to hit 'SAVE'.

      So; It didn't seem to fix the problem.

     If you want me to try something else ,let me know.

Thank You Boyd;

My DriveSmart 71ex is just a 7 inch automotive Garmin.

I just loaded up :

''Utah ATV Trails 2016 ''   gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/653/

''Moab Trails 2014 Map''   gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/508

Both transparent maps and they came in perfect on my DriveSmart.

When these 'map makers' make a Transparent Overlay,do they all use the same program ,or

are there different choices?

Thanks Red90;

Are there any internal parameters in a DriveSmart that could be switched off that could be causing the problem?  The base map looks just fine,just no trails show up.
The developer did a super job on this map, but he is no longer active.

GPSr Units / Can't See The Trails on DriveSmart
May 23, 2020, 02:58:18 PM

Hi Folks;

I loaded 'Northwest Trails Map' on my old Nuvi 1490 and

it works great, but I loaded it on my new DriveSmart 71 and

only the background shows up with no trails visible .

Is there something I can do to modify this trail map to run it

correctly on my DriveSmart?

I'm new at this.
