A program named MapInstall is included in the BaseCamp download.  This is the program which sends the vector map data for the selected segments/quads to the GPSr.

If you have a PC find MapInstall.exe on it and run it as a separate application.  MapInstall 4.0.1 is the latest version.  If you can't find it download it at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3291 . If you have a Mac, a Mac owner will need to advise you.

If you have a PC...

If you have a Mac...
Maybe you should start with letting someone know what OS you are using and version of BaseCamp, etc.
