Title: Trails
Post by: hawk on February 04, 2012, 01:07:56 PM
I just downloaded the transparent My Trails and it shows up in BC but not on top of a map as in Maine Topo or NE Topo. All I see are lines(trails)which are kind of usless w/out a map. What do I do to show these trails as a overlay?

Unfortunately Basecamp and Mapsource can't do that. You have to install the maps on your GPS, where you can see them combined.

Thanks for posting that Hawk, I thought I was the only one wondering what the H_L is going on with these lines on a white background.....  Don't make it easy for newbies do they.
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I need for software (maps) to make this hiking GPS worthwhile.

Which one do you own, and what do you want to do with it?  At a minimum, I'd suggest the topo for your state and My Trails.

Suggest garmin fix basecamp so you can see multiple maps at the same time here:
