Hi Folks,
I hope you all can tolerate another round of newbie questions. I'm very new to all this.
Just purchased a Garmin 60 csx and I'm taking it step by step. I'm going through the Owner's Manual. So far I been able to mark, name and delete waypoints. I've also used the track log feature. I have much to learn with the unit it's self as I make my way through the manual.
I'm a bit confused on the computer side of this. I'm using an iMac. I downloaded Base Camp and the New Hampshire TOPO map on this site.
Question: Am I able to open and use the downloaded map (NH TOPO) on the computer? If yes how do I do it?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

This one will work for you:

Just make sure you get the Mac edition.
With that gps, you will need a microSD card installed to hold maps.
Start there and we will give you some more tips

Thanks Indrid Cold,
I'll check out that map, and the unit came with a 1G card.
Am I able to open (see) that map on the computer or is that only to install on the GPS?
Thanks for the reply,
Rob
Download and install Basecamp first on your Mac: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4449
Now download the Mac version of that map. I haven't used that one, but usually all you need to do is double-click the downloaded file to install it. Now start Basecamp and follow these instructions (Mac part is towards the end): http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin-gps-unit/
The map will be installed for use on your computer and you can send either all or part of it to your 60csx.

Thanks MichaelJ!
I'm really looking forward to reaching that first summit and pressing the "mark" button!
I just hope I remember to look up form the GPS to enjoy the "views from the top" ;)
