Hi Folks.
I'm trying to download the New York Topo to BaseCamp. My first hurdle was the 64-bit message. I think I got past that by installing a workaround from a link provided by Boyd (Thanks Boyd). The NY Topo did download is a bunch of files are in a subdirectory called "NYTopo11".
For the life of me, I can not get baseCamp to read it or get the files in that subdirectory to associate with BaseCamp.
Any suggestions?
What 64 bit message?
Are you using a PC or a Mac?
You've read this?
http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-open-maps-in-garmin-basecamp/
If so, where did it start to go wrong?
It's a PC.
I checked out your link and it was good as it provided a screen-by-screen tutorial. in, "Seeing If The Map Is Loaded In BaseCamp", I was able to get through steps 1-4 and the NY Topo did load.
Then I opened up Base Camp and I can not find it using any of the other steps. The only map in the drop down is the Global Map. When I go to "view", "map product" it only shows Global Map.
I'm stumped.
Close BaseCamp.
Download and install My Trails:
http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/53/
(This is the file Boyd linked you to over at GPSreview)
Re-open BaseCamp and see if both maps are installed.
If not, un-install and re-install your NY topo.
As I said elsewhere, My Trails is only trails and POI. Also, you can only see a few POI unless you are zoomed in closer than 7 miles.
That worked perfectly. Thanks!
My Trails seldom lets you down. (wish they were my Trails...)
