Title: New guy with a 60CSx: how do I get maps into mapsource?
Post by: AlwaysOnWatch on October 17, 2009, 06:51:14 AM
So I just bought the 60CSx and loaded the cd onto my computer and updated everything it wanted to.

How do I get a detailed topo of georgia into mapsource? I downloaded Georgia Topo from this site, ran the install and then mapsource wouldn't work. so I unistalled it, and now mapsource works.

Have you followed the procedures here: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin-gps-unit/

"... mapsource wouldn't work...' is not very helpful.  There have been over 730 downloads in the past 7 months and it appears to be working for them.  Could you be more specific about this?

Thank you. I thought it'd updated when I installed it the first time.

My guess is that you haven't updated your copy of MapSource.

1. Install the MapSource Trip and Waypoint software that came with your GPS.
2. Install the MapSource Update: http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSource_6157.exe
3. Download and install the Georgia Topo map from this site.

Should be working fine now.
