Title: virtual memory problem
Post by: vespaio on April 27, 2010, 03:36:36 PM
Hi,

I was trying to combine the data with GPSMapEdit when it flashed the following warnings (after file number 55 of 73): "Can't read file. The file probably does not fit virtual memory," and "Internal Error. Please report the error log to the developer."

Is there any way around this, or is my pc simply not able to process the data?

Thanks,

Ray

if the data is over 2gb on windows 32bit it probably won't work; software/hardware limits.

Bummer. Looks like it won't.

I'd like to thank those who answered my queries and especially those who put together the highly detailed instructions I used to build the topo. I really appreciated their work.

I just work with smaller sections to get around that limit.

Hi Dan,

Just read your email. To create a smaller section, do I have to  create files incorporating all of the data, gnis, nhd, etc, and only one .mp file from the dem folder?

Thanks,  Ray
