General Discussion / Re: combining 2 states TOPO
August 06, 2015, 01:17:50 PM
Not really, BaseCamp only allows a single map displayed at a time. But the maps would need to be made with that in mind with the data cut to the state border, and they were not.

You could always follow the map making tutorial and make your own that contains the area you hunt, or us a map that contains the contiguous data such as NorthWest TOPO:

that DVD retails for US$129.99 direct from GARMIN:
https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/maps/on-the-trail-maps/topo-24k/topo-us-24k-southeast-dvd/prod35412.html

TOPO US 24K Southeast coverage: http://www8.garmin.com/cgi-bin/mapgen/webmap.cgi?p=30539777&u=1&v=0&cp=4C7FBFC890BB2CA8&z=4&x=240&y=180&w=480&h=360&d=0&rz=0&k=1&sc=1

I just searched that part number on amazon and found it for US$102.84 w/free shipping from Olivabel.

Press the go button then you get a choice to navigate to or move to that location.
#34
Mark a waypoint at the location, then select the waypoint in demo mode and you will get a move to location option

I'll contact the author and see. I'm guessing he needs to renew his domain name service

do a ping and traceroute for the site with the computer you are having issues with and post the results here. If you do not know how to do either, then provide us with the OS you are using and we will inform you how to do this.

Seems a bit easier to just point him to the original .gpx files then having to convert them. That works with both Macintosh and Windoz.

I found this lot rather quickly:

now that you have installed the 32bit mytrails, try reinstalling the texas topo and see if it shows up

I cannot solve the OP's exact problem of displaying the vector MN topo with the boundary waters overlay in Basecamp. I was suggesting some alternatives however. He could display the boundary waters overlay on top of the USGS 24k topo map of MN using Birdseye topo in Basecamp for example.
fair enough, that does help him out

That is true. However you can display two maps simultaneously in Basecamp. But one of them must be a raster map (Garmin Custom Map).

Once again, nothing to do with the OP. The OP is looking to display 2 raster mapsets in BaseCamp.

Garmin Custom Maps do not show in the Maps dropdown in BaseCamp as Garmin classifies these as Overlays, not maps. Are they maps? Well yes they are but in the example given in the OP, no they are not. And neither of the mapsets mentioned in the OP are available as Garmin Custom Maps.

So how can you solve the issue of the OP? How do you display the two vector mapsets mentioned in the OP? Is it possible? Can BaseCamp display the two vector mapsets at the same time?

Whatever Jim is doing has nothing to do with displaying the two maps mentioned in the OP unless I'm miss reading it. Displaying .gpx files on a map is not the same as displaying two maps  simultaneously.

BaseCamp does not allow that, you can only have multiple maps displayed on your gps
