Greetings!
I just did an update for my 66i, first one in quite some time. I have a map I loaded from this site, and added routes for all the areas I hike in. I was using it this weekend in fact.
After the update, I go to FIND and no routes are listed. None at all, no waypoints, no saved tracks nothing.
The map is loaded in the GPS, I can see it along with three others from Garmin. I have enabled it but still no routes.

What can I do?
I probably have the original file located on my computer, but I do not run mac or windows so the only map program available to me is CalTopo for whatever that is worth.
Thanks for the assistance!

GPSr Units / Downloading info from GPS62st
July 07, 2016, 09:22:02 AM
Simple basic question (because I just don't use this thing that much) I have a large amount of info on my GPS (routes waypoints tracks etc) that I want to download into my mapping program, (which can be BaseCamp, NatGeo TOPO or CalTopo online)  but when I try to export from the GPS to the program, it will only export my tracks and newly marked waypoints,  I would like to download everything. I lost the source material that I loaded into the GPS to begin with and want to preserve what I have.

I may not be able to immediately respond to replies so I will thank you for your help and patience in advance.

Thanks!

GPSr Units / Garmin 62st - can't reverse route
August 10, 2014, 07:34:23 PM
I have a garmin 62st with a route created in basecamp.  Garmin 24k map sofware.

In the field, I cannot reverse the route like I could with my 60csx. When I find and click 'reverse route' nothing happens.
Will reversing the route work with computer generated routes, or only ones created on the handled unit?
Thanks

So that's my question.
How do I get Basecamp to show & print UTM grid lines on my maps?
I do not see them on the screen, or in print.
I should add I am using the Garmin TOPO US 24k Southeast map software. Latest version I think.

Thank you

Hello there,
I have a Garmin 60csx, and for some time used Nat. Geo TOPO! as my main mapping software, and need a replacement. I really dislike Basecamp and Mapquest both.

What I am looking for is a program or web source that I can upload/download my GPS or file info, and print true 7.5 minute quads in color, 3d etc.
I've really been out of the loop as far as what's available and would appreciate the help.
Thanks

General Discussion / Any Linux users in here?
June 22, 2010, 04:18:42 AM
This is not a my-OS-is-better-than-you-OS thread! ;D

But I am primarily a linux user - ubuntu. Made the switch about 4 years ago.
As I get more familiar with Mapsource and Base Camp, I will post my experience in getting it to run in Ubuntu if any would think it helpful. I currently use Nat. Geo TOPO! in Linux, kinda buggy but it works, and I run MapSource on an old laptop with Windows XP.
there's a bit of Garmin related freeware out there for Linux users that as I get time to play with I will be happy to post results..

Unless some of you have already tested it?
\What's been your experience in using Garmin or other mapping software, or GPS and Linux?

I downloaded the WV custom map from this site, successfully installed it into Mapsource, and can install the map onto my 60csx.
I have a map of the same area generated with Nat. Geo. TOPO! with routes and waypoints.

Is there any way I can copy these routes and waypoints from the TOPO to the WV map I downloaded, so the map I will install in the GPS will have both the topographic  info and the routes etc?
I can export the data in several formats, is comma delimited text, Garmin - Gardown, Garmin Waypoint+.
What software would I need to place the info onto the downloaded topo map?
Thanks!

General Discussion / Converting .tpo file to Garmin
June 17, 2010, 08:01:12 PM
Hello,
First post here.
I have a 60csx, and use National Geographic Topo.
I have several maps created with that program that are in .tpo format.
Is it possible to convert them to .img files so I can load the maps on the 60csx?
Normally, I would use NG Topo to load the routes and waypoints onto the gps, and carry a paper map to compare.

Also - is there an application available that will allow me to draw in routes and add waypoints to a donwloaded topo, then load the custom map onto the  60csx?

If these topics have been asked here before, please forgive me for asking, you can direct me to the appropriate link/thread.
Thank you for the assistance.
