For the seamless server if you get that error clear your cache and then try again.  If it still doesn't work wait a few hours (sometimes it definitely just doesn't work during certain times).

Also, I was having some issues with Firefox 3 and it so I ended up using IE7.

I'm gonna download some land cover and see what I can do to convert it :)

Map Making Support / Re: Water Data tutorial

Perry: At this point I don't think anything bad happens.  I believe when the shp files are converted to .mp since the doubleup lines up perfectly it doesn't effect anything.  I will be testing that much more thoroughly today since I have duplicated subbasins in my Mississippi data.

Conbillb: I have yet to find a source that has depths.  The high resolution water data will definitely have all the lakes in the S.E. Iowa area but they may not show up on the map.  You may have to download the data and then zoom in.

Obviously I got behind.  Some part of the map kept crashing.  But as of right now just over 50% has been converted to .img files so it should be uploaded Monday as long as the roads appear to be in the correct position.

Yes, as I type this my computer is creating the new quads.  Then cgpsmapper has to compile them all.  Wednesday I would say.  The first compilation had huge errors (huge chunks of roads missing) so it took me a bit to fix that.  As long as these line up with the tracklog it'll be out soon.

The only thing I can think of is to use MapEdit and when you export it crop the top part of the map off.  I'm not sure if its a square though or if you'll lose part of afghanistan.

When contour intervals are you using?

What type of data do you want?  I can give you the topo data and water data for just that area if you give me an area (coordinates for the corners).  If you had trails I would love to add them to this topo.

I have your email.  Sorry for the delay.  This weekend I will look at the new roads and probably process them early next weeks.

I've fixed it with new anti-spam.

Ever figure out what was up with the NHD data.  I am in some military training so my net time is pretty heavily restricted but I really want to crank out some more maps.

That is very interesting.  If you can email me that track log ([email protected]) I will compare it to the new roads data I am processing for the Arizona map.

Map Making Support / Re: Downloading NED data

Did you ever try making it one file rather than the 4?

I read all the licenses I could find and didn't find anything that said it wasn't legit.

I made an excel sheet with all the quads for south caroline.  I'll be writing an article soon on how best to utilize it but here it is if you'd like to see it:

I use a program called Global Mapper to process the contours.

This is how I get the DEM data: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/NED_data.pdf
This is how I get the hydrological data: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/NHD_data.pdf

This page outlines another way to do it: http://home.cinci.rr.com/creek/garmin.htm

Shortly I will be creating an article that has sheets with 100k quads for many states I'll repost when I have created south carolina.
