I'm using the 276c and the overlay works great. But,,

I'm not looking to change the County boundary lines to a different color.
I would like to see all the County boundary lines changed to red or blue or a user defined color.
I think this would make them stand out more on the maps.

Thanks any help in this matter.

Garmin does not provide for user changes to color
Major highways are shown in red, hydro in blue; many county and State boundaries follow watercourses, usually when the boundary was established, so there may be variations from the current streams location.  Using either color could cause some confusion.

Most maps use the 'standard' Garmin feature types.  Custom types can be created, however, not all Garmin GPSrs support these (I have never heard which ones do not, nor what the effects are on a non-supporting GPSr).

You can create your own mapset however you would like.  This site has some tutorials to help you learn how to do so.

You would need to find out what kind of lines the author used for boundaries, then re-define them as a custom line color. This isn't too hard, but still might be more technical than you care to get into....

GPSMapEdit can open the .img files for you to discover the MP_TYPE that is used.

SendMap20 can be used to add your custom .typ file to the mapset.
