So how you load a store purchased map (I purchased Garmin Mountain west) into mapsource so I can load other maps on the same SD card.

I want to put this map http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/135/ on the Topo map??

I installed the map tool kit and got it to run but is says ERROR file termed right at the end??

I'm thinking you mean that you purchased the TOPO U.S. 24K - Mountain North on a pre-programmed microSD. If you return it and get TOPO U.S. 24K North Central DVD you will be able to.
