Northwest Trails Not Working On Windows 10

I have used this map on Windows 8 with no problems. With my new laptop it installed perfectly but doesn't show up under maps in Basecamp. I tried to contact the author of the map (I have in the past to show him where he could find info on the Danskin Trails) but have not heard from him.
I also tried to sign in on the forums indicated to contact the author but no joy there also.

I really like Northwest Trails and hope someone can get him a message to fix the problem.
Thanks

Have you tried messaging the map creator via the Northwest Trails homepage?

Try my suggestion here: https://forums.gpsfiledepot.com/index.php?topic=4173.msg23265#new

Try running MapConverter (it's free) and see if it finds your maps: http://www.javawa.nl/mapconverter_en.html

If so, convert them. This will put them in Garmin's new format and should avoid any of the registry problems that the old maps on this site seem to have.

The other reports of Windows 10 problems appear to be related to the Windows registry. Garmin's new format does not use the registry however mapmakers on this site are reluctant to make the switch to the new format (which isn't very "new" anymore actually ;) )

Converting a registry based map to gmap will also place the files in the location that Garmin prefers.

Yes I tried. I requested permission to ask a question on the Switch forum a month ago. No joy.

Boyd: I will try your suggestion. I will let you know if it works. By the way I hate windows 10.

See these posts from earlier today. apparently it works, but you may have to manually copy the map to the correct location. I thought MapConverter automatically did that when I tried:

Boyd:
Un-install Northwest Trail, and reinstall into the folder you mentioned fixed the problem.

Thanks. We are tasked to fix signage in the Danskin Trail system in 2 weeks. I was beginning to think I would not be able to track all of our progress.

Thanks again!
