Can't upload waypoints from eTrex 20 to free version of MapSourse.

I downloaded basemap and MapSource then AZ Topo from GPS File Depot and have been able to dowload the Topo in to my new eTrex 20.  I cannot get waypoints I have established on the eTrex to upload to MapSource.  There are times also that it is difficult to get my laptop to pick up the usb line from the eTrex.  Can someone help me?

The newer GPS units like yours are not really compatible with Mapsource, as you just learned. Mapsource has been discontinued and will never be capable of this. The problem is that the new devices store waypoints, routes and tracks in many different files across the device but Mapsource only looks in one place.
